Fabrics Lefko uses linen, a low-impact fibre that requires no irrigation, results in no waste and is fully biodegradable. 1 of the 2 linen fabrics used is certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and provided by a weaving mill partner that runs carbon-neutral mills.
Lining, thread & accessories Lefko uses corozo buttons, which are derived from the nut of the Tagua Palm sourced from Ecuador. The buttons are certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and AZO-free.
All cotton yarn used for lining and thread is grown, ginned, spun and woven in Greece to support the local cotton and textile industry. The mill Lefko works with is committed to the Better Cotton Initiative.
Lefko's washing and size labels are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton.
Packaging Lefko uses acid-free tissue paper made of wood pulp sourced from FSC-certified sustainably-managed forests and printed with soy-based ink. The mailers used are 100% compostable.
Lefko provides meaningful employment and training to refugees and survivors of human trafficking in Greece. 50% of Lefko's profits go towards their makers' tailoring training program.
