What is it made of? Made in Cambodia by Pour Un Sourire d'Enfant. Vegan, 100% GOTS-certified cotton jersey, 100% cotton embroidery. What do the kids say? Charlotte: "We have to be nice to the people who make our clothes. Even if we don't know them, or we have never seen them." Care for a tip? Hand washing in cold water with a gentle detergent is highly recommended. If you choose to use the washing machine, use a gentle detergent and the cold cycle programme.
Turning clothes inside out before washing and drying can prevent from fading. Line drying is recommended. When to wear? For all seasons, when weather is nice, dry and warm, with temperatures between 12 and 35 degrees Celsius or from 53 to 95 Fahrenheit. 1+1= Combine it with Milo's trousers. Production The Extra Smile produces small quantities to avoid overproduction and waste. They aim to develop a platform that facilitates the purchase and sale of their second-hand clothes by 2021, to collaborate with a network of repair and second-hand shops in the areas where their customers live by 2021, and to phase out all plastic and polyester by 2025.
Fabrics They use GOTS-certified organic fabrics, avoid polyester and plastic, and are creative with upcycled materials.
Packaging Reusable or compostable packaging is used.
The Extra Smile works with small workshops in Cambodia (Fairsew and Pour Un Sourire d’Enfant), which ensure a safe working environment and pay a decent living wage. They contribute to the protection of human rights and recognize the right to collective bargaining, and do not tolerate forced labour, child labour or discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, religion, race, disability or age. The Extra Smile also makes a conscious effort to contract services from women-led businesses.
